Bridal costume of the Attica villages. It cosists of a white cotton tunic ("pokamisso") with a fully embroidered multi-colored hem ("foundi"), a short waistcoat ("tzakos"), the Byzantine "tzitzakion", with gold-embroidered sleeves and a fret pattern all around the jabot, a red girdle, the inner and outer sleeveless coat ("grizo"). The headgear consists of a red fez, a small gold crown ("koronatsi") and a pure-silk "gold" shawl ("chryssobolia") while the braids are adorned with "kremezes" or "peskoulia" (red silk threads with silver fastenings and tassels). A large net of beads ("megaloyordani"), a small silver-chased necklace ("yordani"), a long necklace with seven rows of chain ("kordoni") and silver bracelets ("beletzikia") complete the ensemble.
