Bridal costume from Skopelos. It consists of a white cotton vest, a fine silk tunic, four pleated underskirts, while the outer garments consist of a pleated dress decorated with multi-colored embroidery and a dark red velvet waistcoat ("bamboukli"). The headgear consists of the "bounes" (net of thick black silk), the "kavouki" (a small cap of red satin), the gold chin-strap "kaptseli" and gold-weave ornaments ("tsitsakia") are wound round the head like a crown, together with a fine tulle kerchief ("salpa").
