Traditional costume from Naousa, Macedonia. It consists of a linen-cotton tunic with gold embroidery, a pleated dress of black silk material with mauve flowers woven into it, decorated with silk braids and the "libandes", a blue velvet waistcoat. A pleated apron of the same material as the dress and the "kolania", silver-chased buckles of wire, are worn at the waist. The headgear, the "foutosi", made up of the fez with a gold-embroidered top- "tepes", gold fringes and a long gold tassel, and the "bogos", a cotton print kerchief wound all round, 19th century.
