Festal and bridal costume from Megara, Attica. It consists of a white cotton tunic, decorated with lace, and a sleeveless dress with a gold embroidered bodice of dark red velvet, and a skirt with horizontal and vertical pleats- "pastes" and "fleves". On top is worn the "zipouni" (waistcoat). A white silk apron with three lines of lace is worn at the waist. The headgear consists of a small fez with silver coins and a silver top -tasi- at the crown, together with an all-silk gold-weave shawl ("bolia"), 19th century.
