In Lazaros Koundouriotis Historical Mansion, branch of the National Historical Museum (NHM) in Hydra, the Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece presents the exhibition “Raiment of the soul” with works by artists, photography by Vangelis Kyris and embroidery by Anatoli Georgiev. Island costumes of the 18th and 19th century, which are some of the most representative of the costume collection of NHM, are photographed worn by people of today. The works of the creators, printed on canvas and embroidered with gold threads and yarns, add another dimension to the costumes of the Museum’s collection, highlighting the high aesthetics, which was not influenced by the four centuries of servitude.
